New York awards New Flyer with a contract for 139 Xcelsior® 60-foot buses

WINNIPEG, March 14, 2016 /CNW/ - (TSX: NFI) (TSX: NFI.DB.U) New Flyer of America Inc., a subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc. ("New Flyer" or the "Company"), the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses and motor coaches in the United States and Canada, announced today that New York City Transit Authority ("NYCT") awarded New Flyer a contract for 139 (278 equivalent units or "EUs") heavy-duty 60-foot Xcelsior® clean diesel buses.

The contract is for 139 XD60 Xcelsior buses and is valued at approximately $107 million. The buses will be used to replace older models that have reached the end of their useful life and will reach service areas in the Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.
