In Colorado, incumbent Democrat Senator Mark Udall and his Republican challenger, Congressman Cory Gardner, are running a close race for U.S. senator.  Oil & Gas 360® created a graph showing how the two candidates’ campaign contributions compared by business sector.

Udall’s number one contributing sector was Lawyers & Lobbyists, from which his campaign received $1.7 million. Gardner’s campaign received $180,000 in that category.

Gardner’s top sector was Finance/Insurance/Real Estate with $825,000. Udall received $1.4 million in contributions from that group.

Udall’s No. 2 contributing sector was Ideology/Single Issue with $1.6 million; Gardner received $415,000 from the sector.

Gardner’s No. 2 sector was Energy/Natural Resources with contributions of $661,000. Udall received $709,000 from the energy sector.

Looking at the smallest contribution of the 13 biggest categories, for Udall it was $141,000 from the Construction sector. Gardner’s smallest contributing sector was Labor, which contributed $5,000 to his campaign.

Mark Udall’s total amount raised was $18 million.  Gardner’s total was $11 million.
