The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today that the number of unemployed workers in the oil and gas extraction industry from September 2017 to September 2018 has decreased from 24,000 to 13,000 unemployed.

The total U.S civilian unemployment rate has declined to 3.7 percent in September, and total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 134,000. Job gains occurred in professional and business services, in health care, and in transportation and warehousing.
