13,981 producing wells is another new all-time high

The North Dakota Industrial Commission released its oil and gas production report, covering oil and gas activity for June and July of 2017.

The production of oil and gas has increased from June to July. In only one month oil production increased by 14,653 BOPD and gas production increased by 24,917 mcf/day. Approximately 95% of hydrocarbon production sources from the Bakken and Three Forks unconventional reservoirs.

There has also been a rapid spike in the drilling permits in the area, rising from 109 to 146 permits. More than 99% of drilling activity is targeting the Bakken and Three Forks formations.

The rig count has increased by three rigs from June to July, but lower oil prices hinder expansion of drilling activity.
