Marsh established PetroCounsel in 2006, providing title opinions in growing shale plays across the country. He perfected a "virtual law model," standardized product processes and delivery, and developed an alternative billing system based on the number of items examined. Marsh's training system and materials have prepared hundreds of attorneys and landmen for title work. He is a frequent speaker at industry events.
Through the late 1990s and early 2000s, Marsh's solo practice assisted tech-based start-ups in navigating the commercialization process and provided legal counsel to small businesses. He was also a partner in a consulting firm that helped U.S. and European companies enter the Middle Eastern and North African markets to develop new business.
Marsh is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and Association of International Petroleum Negotiators. He graduated in the top 10 percent of his class at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1996. He served in the U.S. Army and earned a B.A. from the University of South Florida.
