OPEC crude basket drops to $31.61

, Mar 4 (EFE).- The basket of crude oil used as a benchmark indicator by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or OPEC, went down to $31.61, the OPEC Secretariat said on Friday.

OPEC said the price of its basket, which includes 13 varieties of crude, decreased by 0.1 percent on Thursday, compared with the closing price of the previous session.

So far this year, OPEC crude basket has accumulated an average price of $27.91, 43 percent less than in 2015.

April delivery of Brent crude opened at $37.27 a barrel at the start of Friday's trading on the futures market, with a rise of 0.53 percent from the previous session's close. EFE
