OPEC crude basket drops to $36.19

, Mar 24 (EFE).- The basket of crude oil used as a benchmark indicator by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or OPEC, dropped to $36.19, the OPEC Secretariat said on Thursday.

OPEC said the price of its basket, which includes 13 varieties of crude, increased by $0.48 on Wednesday, compared with the closing price of the previous session.

May delivery of Brent crude opened at $40.18 a barrel at the start of Thursday's trading on the futures market, with a decrease of 0.71 percent from the previous session's close. EFE
