OPEC crude basket rises to $26.40

, Jan 28 (EFE).- The basket of crude oil used as a benchmark indicator by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or OPEC, rose to $26.40, the OPEC Secretariat said on Thursday.

OPEC said the price of its basket, which includes 12 varieties of crude, increased by 5 percent on Wednesday, compared with the closing price of the previous session.

March delivery of Brent crude opened at $32.64 a barrel at the start of Thursday's trading on the futures market, with a decrease of 1.3 percent from the previous session's close. EFE
