OPEC crude basket rises to $44.37

Vienna, May 17 (EFE).- The basket of crude oil used as a benchmark indicator by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or OPEC, rose to $44.37, the OPEC Secretariat said on Tuesday.

OPEC said the price of its basket, which includes 13 varieties of crude, increased by $1.07 on Monday, compared with the closing price of the previous session.

The July delivery of Brent crude opened at $49.21 a barrel at the start of Tuesday's trading on the futures market, an increase of 0.49 percent from the previous session's close. EFE
