Panel of Experts to Hold Town Hall Meeting to Discuss Health Impacts of The Massive Porter Ranch Gas Well Failure
PORTER RANCH, Calif., Dec. 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A panel of medical experts in the fields of neurology, pediatrics, pulmonology, psychology and emergency and critical care medicine along with a veterinarian will address the health impacts of the well blowout and to answer questions from the community, said lawyers representing Save Porter Ranch and hundreds of homeowners impacted by the Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) massive gas well failure. The community meeting will allow residents to ask independent health experts questions.

The unprecedented leak has unleashed an uninterrupted flow of gases and fluids, including methane, methyl mercaptan, and aromatic hydrocarbons they have sickened hundreds of the 30,000 residents who live in Porter Ranch. This meeting will allow Porter Ranch residents to hear from real experts about the toxic impacts from the air contamination being released by the massive failure of a Southern California Gas Company injection well.
The Aliso Canyon massive well failure and blowout have sent natural gas mixed with various other chemicals including benzene (a known carcinogen) hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, and methane into the air throughout the Porter Ranch community. Over 4,000 residents have requested temporary relocation due to the well failure.
