Almost half of all U.S. crude oil production from onshore basins comes from the Permian Basin according to the EIA. We're talking about a massive amount of daily oil production--3.8 million barrels per day.

And now a home-based Permian refinery has landed on the drawing boards that aims to start processing West Texas light oil at home in the heart of the U.S.'s hottest oil region.
