Weld County is ground zero for the Wattenberg field, the sweet spot of the DJ Basin, the place whose production made Colorado the nation’s No. 7 oil producer. But it's also home to much rural agriculture, including farm and ranch families that go back generations.

And as the clock ticks closer to election day, Weld County property owners--farmers, ranchers and mineral rights owners--are asking a lot of questions.
