MENLO PARK, Calif., Oct. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Consulting magazine has named Yasumi Taniguchi, a managing director with global consulting firm Protiviti, to its 2015 Women Leaders in Consulting list. In the publication's ninth annual listing, 13 women representing consulting firms across the globe were selected from more than 300 nominations.
Taniguchi, based in Protiviti's Tokyo office, leads the firm's Japan Internal Audit and Financial Advisory practice, supporting Japanese and overseas clients, including manufacturing, insurance and investment firms and Japanese Shosha. She has worked with many of Japan's largest companies enhancing risk management, delivering internal audit programs and providing consulting advice for management and boards, while also coordinating global teams across Asia, the United States, Europe, India and South America.

Taniguchi was the first person in Japan to obtain a Certification in Control Self-Assessment from The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). She is also a Certified Internal Auditor and earned a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from Linfield College, Oregon. Over the years, she has worked closely with The IIA Japan to grow the internal auditing profession. In particular, Taniguchi is a champion for women leaders in the Japanese consulting field, helping to develop and advance the talent and leadership skills of women colleagues and clients. She is a regular speaker at professional conferences and meetings in Japan.
