Marathon, TORC also announce changes

Rex Energy Corporation (ticker: REXX) announced today that it has appointed Curt Walker, the company’s current chief accounting officer, to the position of CFO, effective immediately.

Walker will be responsible for all financial, accounting and treasury functions, as well as other related duties.

Walker has been the company’s chief accounting officer since May 2012. Prior to his promotion, he served as VP of accounting, and has been with Rex Energy since 2007. Prior to joining Rex, Walker was with YRC Worldwide, a Fortune 500 trucking and transportation company. Walker holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting and an M.B.A., both from Shippensburg University.

“Curt has been a key part of the Rex team for over a decade and has been integral in the success of our company. We are very pleased that he has accepted the expanded role and we’re confident that he is very qualified for the job,” said Rex Energy President and CEO Tom Stabley.

Thomas Rajan, the company’s previous CFO, has resigned from his position effective immediately. According to Rex Energy, there have been no disagreements with the board of directors or with executive management, and Rajan’s departure is not related to any issues regarding financial disclosures, accounting or legal matters.

Stabley commented, “We thank Thomas for his service over the last three years at Rex and wish him the best going forward.”


Marathon Petroleum Corporation (ticker: MPC) appointed Brian K. Partee to vice president of business development, and Rick Linhardt to vice president of tax. Both appointments are effective Feb. 1, 2018.

Partee joined MPC in 1995 as an accountant in Marathon Pipe Line. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bowling Green State University and an MBA from the University of Findlay.

Rick Linhardt – VP of Tax

Linhardt joined MPC in 2013 as the manager of tax compliance.

Linhardt has 30 years of tax experience in public accounting and the oil and gas industry, including an assignment as the head of the tax department at RRI Energy Inc., where he was instrumental in its merger with NRG Energy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Kansas, and has been a certified public accountant since 1986.


TORC Oil & Gas Ltd. (ticker: TOG) appointed Mary-Jo Case to the company’s board today, on January 23, 2018. The company said that Case is an independent businesswoman with over 34 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a depth of experience in the areas of mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, negotiations, contracts, land administration, land systems and human resources.

Prior to her retirement in 2015, Case was a member of the senior management committee at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL). In this position, she was responsible for the Canadian merger and acquisition activity, overseeing hundreds of acquisitions and dispositions, as well as several corporate transactions.

During her tenure at CNRL, Case was also responsible for the management of corporate compensation, recruiting, attrition and people strategy. Prior to joining CNRL Case held increasing roles at PanCanadian Energy /PanCanadian Petroleum Limited and Shell Canada Resources.

Case is an active member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen, a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, a member of the Women’s Executive Network and a senior advisor for Jupiter Resources Inc.
