Schneider Electric's leadership in Advanced Distribution Management Systems recognized by Gartner

For the third year in a row, Schneider Electric's ADMS also scored highest in all three use cases measured in the Gartner Critical Capabilities report

RUEIL-MALMAISON, France, June 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) are comprehensive, grid management platforms for electric power distribution and provide numerous capabilities to system operators. Those include monitoring and control, network performance analysis, incident management, and maintenance planning. These systems are key to electricity distributors' strategies to boost grid efficiency, improve system reliability and resiliency, optimize asset management and network operations, and reduce system costs and capital investment.

For the fourth consecutive year, Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, was recognized as a Leader in ADMS systems by Gartner, Inc. in their Magic Quadrant for Advanced Distribution Management Systems report.1 And for the third year in a row, the company also scored the highest in the accompanying Critical Capabilities for Advanced Distribution Management Systems report in each of the three Use Cases measured by Gartner: Improve Outage Response, Optimize Grid Operation, and Manage DER Impacts.2

"I'm exceedingly proud of the talented professionals whose expertise, dedication, and ceaseless commitment to innovation has again made Gartner's recognition possible," said Frédéric Abbal, Executive Vice President of Schneider Electric's Energy Business. "We believe being named a leader in ADMS once again is a tangible reflection of our constant pursuit of what digitization can really accomplish, in this case with respect to grid efficiency and asset optimization for distribution utilities."

Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure ADMS is used by 75 utility companies serving 70 million customers worldwide. In the past 12 months, Schneider has signed 12 new ADMS contracts, adding eight million service points to its cumulative end-customer base. The largest installation site is Enel, with 31,500 feeders and 31 million metered service points.
