Tecogen Presents Forklift Emissions Results at 2018 World LPG Forum

WALTHAM, Mass., Oct. 02, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tecogen Inc. (NASDAQ: TGEN), a clean energy company providing ultra-efficient, clean, natural gas powered on-site power, heating and cooling equipment, is pleased to announce that today it will be presenting the results of its forklift truck emissions program at the 2018 World LPG Forum in Houston, Texas. The presentation will be given by Robert Panora, Tecogen’s President and COO.  Mr. Panora will review the test results from the Company’s adaptation of its Ultera emissions aftertreatment system to an LPG (liquified petroleum gas or commercial propane) forklift truck supplied by its OEM partner on the project, Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA). The presentation is located on our website here Forklift Emissions Results Presentation.

“We were very pleased to be invited to speak at this prestigious conference,” said Robert Panora. “We anticipate strong interest in our work from the LPG industry given the increasing market attention to air quality, which includes, in this case, indoor spaces. We believe retrofitting LPG forklifts to achieve near zero emissions is essential for reversing market loss to the battery powered forklifts, largely because of the air quality issue.”

Also discussed in the presentation will be the next phase of the project whereby trials will be done with modified tuning of the Mitsubishi engine to enhance Tecogen’s patented Ultera process. This final development step is required to achieve the program goal of a commercially available, near-zero emissions forklift truck fueled by propane.

“LPG powered forklifts are the mainstay of warehousing and manufacturing due to the flexibility, cost-effectiveness and power density of LPG,” added Benjamin Locke, Tecogen’s CEO.  “Integrating the Tecogen Ultera emissions system to allow near-zero emissions designation, either via retrofit or new production, will allow continued use of LPG forklifts while alleviating concerns over air quality.”
