This just in! New keynote speaker added to HOMER International Microgrid Conference lineup

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrew McAllister, Commissioner of the California Energy Commission, has been added as the fifth keynote speaker for the 6th annual HOMER International Microgrid Conference (HIMC), presented by Distributed Energy, on October 7–10 at the Paradise Point Resort in San Diego, CA. He will lead off the presentations on Monday, October 8 and joins a highly anticipated keynote lineup of top minds from some of the most influential companies in the microgrid and distributed energy industries: Dr. Peter Lilienthal, CEO of HOMER Energy; Karl R. Rábago, Executive Director of the Pace Energy and Climate Center; Peter Asmus, Research Director of Navigant Research; and Jon Exel, Senior Energy Specialist of World Bank Group.

McAllister was appointed to the California Energy Commission by Gov. Edmund G. Brown in May 2012 and reappointed in January 2017. He has been working on clean energy deployment and policy throughout his entire 25-year career, beginning in the early 1990s in project engineering and development, evolving into program design and implementation, and then moving into the policy arena. The commissioner has worked across the world to develop renewable energy generation, energy efficiency investments, and energy management systems, with counterparts ranging from tiny remote communities to the largest utilities.
