By transitioning to this fuel, FCA US now has the largest private fleet of CNG-powered heavy-duty vehicles in the state of Michigan. Annually, the FCA US CNG fleet is projected to displace nearly 3.3 million gallons of diesel fuel and dramatically reduce CO2 emissions.
TruStar Energy constructed and owns the CNG fueling station located at the FCA US's North American Detroit Terminal. The CNG station fuels 179 tractor trucks in the FCA Transport fleet with cleaner, domestically produced natural gas.
The NGV Achievement Awards recognize national innovators and early adopters for their outstanding leadership, vision and innovation to advance natural gas as a transportation fuel. The award ceremony was held Wednesday, May 4, at the 2016 Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Southern California.
