Canadian numbers up by three

This week’s Baker Hughes rig count shows that U.S. numbers declined by eight, resulting in the total count falling to 934. Compared to this time last year, numbers are down 123.

Canada is up compared to last week with a total count of 140, representing an increase of three rigs. Compared to this time last year, its total is down by 69.

Breakdown by region

Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, two experienced an increase in rigs this week:

  • Granite Wash is at four, up two from last week.
  • Permian is at 444, up two from last week.

On the other hand, two regions experienced a decrease:

  • Cana Woodford is at 45, down three from last week.
  • Haynesville is at 50, down two from last week.

All other regions saw no net change in active rig count.
