Canadian numbers up by one
This week’s Baker Hughes rig count shows that U.S. numbers declined by four, resulting in the total count falling to 954. Compared to this time last year, numbers are down 92.
Canada is up compared to last week with a total count of 118, representing an increase of one rig. Compared to this time last year, its total is down by 93.
Breakdown by region
Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, three experienced an increase in rigs this week:
- Cana Woodford is at 49, up one from last week.
- Eagle Ford is at 67, up one from last week.
- Permian is at 440, up three from last week.
On the other hand, three regions experienced a decrease:
- Ardmore Woodford is at four, down two from last week.
- Haynesville is at 51, down one from last week.
- Marcellus is at 58, down one from last week.
All other regions saw no net change in active rig count.
