Canadian numbers rise by 4

This week’s Baker Hughes rig count shows that U.S. numbers fell by six, bringing the total down to 969. Compared to this time last year, the decline is even steeper, with yearly numbers down 90 compared to June of 2018.

Canada, on the other hand, is up compared to last week with a total count of 107, representing an increase of 4 rigs. Compared to this time last year, its total is down by 32.

Breakdown by region

No basins experienced any increase in rigs this week. Two regions, however, experienced a decrease:

  • Eagle Ford is at 73, down one from last week.
  • Permian is at 441, down five from last week.

All other regions saw no net change in active rig count.
