The EIA released its weekly Natural Gas Storage Report today, outlining how national natural gas stocks have changed in the last week.

In total, the EIA reports natural gas stocks increased by 97 Bcf last week, rising from 3,311 Bcf to 3,408 Bcf. This is below the 3,544 Bcf that was in storage at this point last year, and is 2% above the five year average of 3,341.

The largest stock builds were found in the South Central and Midwest regions, which added a combined 65 Bcf of storage. Stocks increased in all regions this week.

Salt stocks in the South Central region currently significantly exceed the five-year average, with levels about 17.4% higher than the average. Gas in storage in the Pacific region is 10.7% lower than the five-year average for the area.
