The EIA released its weekly Natural Gas Storage Report today, outlining how national natural gas stocks have changed in the last week.

In total, the EIA reports natural gas stocks fell by 63 Bcf last week, decreasing to 2.991 Bcf from 3,054 Bcf. This is 19.1% below the 3,695 Bcf that was in storage at this point last year and is 19.5% below the five-year average of 3,716 Bcf. This week’s storage draw met expectations, as analysts predicted a draw of 63 Bcf.


Nearly every region saw a draw this week, with the largest in the East and Midwest region where stocks fell by 26 Bcf and 24 Bcf. The only build came in salt stocks in the South Central region, which added 4 Bcf.
