The EIA released its weekly Natural Gas Storage Report today, outlining how national natural gas stocks have changed in the last week.

In total, the EIA reports natural gas stocks increased by 91 Bcf last week, rising from 3,220 Bcf to 3,311 Bcf. This is below the 3,490 Bcf that was in storage at this point last year, and is 1.5% above the five year average of 3,268.

The largest stock builds were found in the East and Midwest regions, which added a combined 62 Bcf of storage. Stocks increased in all regions except Pacific this week.

Salt stocks in the South Central region currently significantly exceed the five-year average, with levels about 12.2% higher than the average. Gas in storage in the Pacific region is nearly 11.6% lower than the five-year average for the area.
