The EIA released its weekly Natural Gas Storage Report today, outlining how national natural gas stocks have changed in the last week.

In total, the EIA reports natural gas stocks increased by 65 Bcf last week, rising from 3,220 Bcf to 3,125 Bcf. This is well below the 3,432 Bcf that was in storage at this point last year, and only 0.5% above the five year average of 3,205.

The largest stock builds were found in the East and Midwest regions, which added a combined 64 Bcf of storage. Gas in storage in the Pacific region fell by 5 Bcf, the only drawdown in the week.

In the mountain region gas stocks significantly exceeds the five year average, with current levels about 7.3% higher than the average. Gas in storage in the Pacific region is nearly 11.1% lower than the five year average for the area.
