The EIA released its weekly Natural Gas Storage Report today, outlining how national natural gas stocks have changed in the last week.

In total, the EIA reports natural gas stocks fell by 182 Bcf last week, dropping from 3,626 Bcf to 3,444 Bcf. This is 5.0% below the 3,627 Bcf that was in storage at this point last year, and is 2.4% below the five-year average of 3,528. This week’s storage build was in line with expectations, as analysts predicted a draw of 172 Bcf.

Weekly Gas Storage: Large Draw

No regions saw builds this week, with draws across the board. The largest draw came in the Midwest region, where stocks declined by 53 Bcf.

Stocks in the Mountain and Midwest regions are above the five-year average. Gas in storage in the Pacific region is 11.7% lower than the five-year average for the area.
