The EIA released its weekly Natural Gas Storage Report today, outlining how national natural gas stocks have changed in the last week.

In total, the EIA reports natural gas stocks increased by 30 Bcf last week, rising from 3,125 Bcf to 3,155 Bcf. This is well below the 3,394 Bcf that was in storage at this point last year, and only 0.3% above the five year average of 3,147.

The largest stock builds were found in the East and Midwest regions, which added a combined 40 Bcf of storage. Gas in storage in the South Central region fell by 14 Bcf, the largest drawdown in the week.

In the mountain region gas stocks significantly exceeds the five year average, with current levels about 9% higher than the average. Gas in storage in the Pacific region is nearly 9.3% lower than the five year average for the area.
