Most states, basins see shifting activity

Drilling activity fell slightly this week, continuing an overall decline that has prevailed for most of 2019 according to Baker Hughes.

A net one rig came offline this week, the smallest change in nearly two months. There are currently 990 rigs drilling in the country, the lowest activity level since March 2018. One offshore rig shut down, while land and inland waters activity held flat in the week.

Drilling activity shifted in favor of oil drilling this week, with tow oil-targeting rigs coming online while three gas rigs shut down. Oil now accounts for 81.5% of all drilling, with 807 rigs.
