What Crappy Quarter? A Look at Apple’s Staggering $50 Billion Revenue

Yes, Apple reported the first decline in iPhone sales since the device-that-conquered-the-world was released in 2007. And, yes, the iPhone woes and weakness in China led to the first slide in quarterly revenue (year over year) for the Cupertino company in 13 years.

  • That’s more than double the $21.3 billion in revenue Google reported in the fourth quarter.
  • It is equal to about $155 from every person in America (roughly 320 million).
  • If Apple was a car traveling the 48,000-mile Interstate Highway System, it would have collected more than $1 million each mile.
  • It’s 26 times the revenue Apple recorded for the same period 20 years ago ($2.18 billion in Q2 1996).
  • It’s almost equal to the $55.4 billion in revenue that Intel recorded for all of 2015
