The Jinzhou 9-3 oilfield is located in the North Liaodong Bay in Bohai with a water depth in the range of 6.5 meters to 10.5 meters (approximately 21 feet to 34 feet). The main production facilities of the adjustment project include one central processing platform, one wellhead platform and 21 producing wells. There are currently 15 wells producing approximately 7.6 MBOPD. The adjustment project is expected to reach its designed peak production of approximately 12 MBOPD sometime in 2015.

The Jinzhou 9-3 is an independent oilfield in which CNOOC holds 100% interest and acts as the operator.

CNOOC’s announcement today marks the second time in less than two months that the company has brought new production online. On December 17, 2014, CNOOC announced that production began at its Liuhua 34-2 gas field in the Eastern South China Sea. The Liuhua 34-2 is part of the larger Liwan Gas Project that is operated by Husky (49% interest) with CNOOC (51% interest).
