DTE Energy dedicates state's largest operating solar energy array Tuesday at Domino's Farms

  

WHAT:

Over the course of the last two years, DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE) has collaborated with Domino's Farms to create the state's largest solar array.  The 1.1-megawatt facility, located on the grounds of Domino's Farms just outside of Ann Arbor, will be dedicated on Tuesday, Sept. 15 by DTE, Domino's Farms and Ann Arbor Township officials.




The project comprises more than 4,000 panels on property north of M-14 and west of Earhart Road.  The solar installation generates enough electricity to power 185 homes at any given time.  DTE constructed the solar array and will operate and maintain the facility for 20 years.

Domino's Farms solar array site is located on property north of its office park. Look for DTE vehicle parked at the entrance to the solar array.  Follow signs to site.  This is a construction site, closed-toe shoes are advised.

WHY:

The Domino's Farms project is part of SolarCurrents, a pilot program launched in 2009.  DTE Energy has installed 11 megawatts of solar energy across 23 sites in metro Detroit and in Michigan's "Thumb" area.
