PRC Europe 2025: Refineries Adaptation for Sustainable Feedstocks

(Oil & Gas 360) – Unlock the future of downstream transformation at the PRC Europe 2025 and engage with leaders through case studies and networking.  The Congress is scheduled on 19-21 May in Milan, Italy to drive decarbonisation, sustainable fuels and implement energy transition strategies.

PRC Europe 2025: Refineries Adaptation for Sustainable Feedstocks- oil and gas 360

One of the main topics in the agenda is feedstock transformation and refinery adaptation. A dedicated session on the second day brings together top experts to explore the latest solutions for repurposing feedstock and adapting refinery operations to new market realities:

  • David Wendel from ETS Degassing presents how mobile emission treatment enables a smooth transition from crude oil to renewable feedstock by providing flexible, on-site answers for safe and sustainable reduction of harmful industrial gases and emissions;
  • Yelena Rojas of IGS Europe explores strategies for repurposing existing production assets, focusing on how current infrastructure can be adapted for efficient processing of renewable feedstocks;
  • Milica Folić from Topsoe addresses the complexities of keeping up with the feedstock change, emphasising the need for technological adaptability as the industry shifts from first and second generation feedstocks to more advanced, unconventional sources;
  • Enzo de Biase of NextChem Tech S.p.A. discusses the unlocking of unconventional feedstock waste treatment, showcasing the NX PTU Pretreatment Technology as a key enabler for processing a broader array of waste materials into valuable renewable products.

Up-to-date case studies demonstrate that refinery conversion is not only a matter of compliance, but also a strategic move to maintain market relevance and support global decarbonisation purposes.
