U.S. rig count increased by 1 is at 549

This week’s Baker Hughes Rig Count shows that the U.S. increased by 1 last week, resulting in a total count of 549 rigs. Canada had a decrease of 3 over last week, resulting in a total Canadian count of 188 rigs.

Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, the Permian region experienced an increase this week.

Meanwhile, 4 regions experienced a decrease this week:

• The Cana Woodford is down 3, at 17
• The Eagle Ford region is down 1, at 41.
• The Granite Wash region is down 1, at 12.
• The Williston region is down 1, at 29.

All other regions saw no net change in the active rig count.
