U.S. rig count decreased by 9, is at 543

This week’s Baker Hughes Rig Count shows that the U.S. decreased by 9 last week, resulting in a total count of 543 rigs. Canada had a decrease of 24 over last week, resulting in a total Canadian count of 153 rigs.

Breakdown by region

Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, the Haynesville and Williston regions experienced an increase this week.

Meanwhile, 4 regions experienced a decrease this week:

• The Arkoma Woodford is down 1, at 2.
• The Granite Wash is down 1, at 14
• The Marcellus is down 2, at 25.
• The Permian is down 2, at 241.

All other regions saw no net change in the active rig count.
