U.S. rig count decreased by 4 is at 559

This week’s Baker Hughes Rig Count shows that the U.S. decreased by 4 over last week, resulting in a total count of 559 rigs. Canada had an increase of 2 over last week, resulting in a total Canadian count of 114 rigs.

Breakdown by region

Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, the Cana Woodford and the Haynesville region experienced an increase this week.

Meanwhile, 3 regions experienced a decrease this week:

• The Eagle Ford is at 40, down 3.
• The Granite Wash is at 14, down 1.
• The Permian is at 275, down 3.

All other regions saw no net change in the active rig count.
