- 72-point colorimetric gas detection system with lower cost of ownership, easy-to-use touchscreen and intuitive interface
CHARLOTTE, N.C., October, 2020 — Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the Vertex™ Edge, a cost-effective gas detection solution to help semiconductor fabrication facilities and other operations monitor jobsites and protect their workers and assets while reducing downtime. Honeywell understands the value of fabrication facility production, from the raw silicon wafer to the fabrication of a chip, and that consistent performance of gas detection systems are paramount to remaining operational.
That’s where Honeywell’s Vertex™ Edge comes in. It provides enhanced performance that is simple and intuitive to operate, so that workers can quickly evaluate gas readings, alarms, event logs, real-time trends and overall system status. It includes an easy-to-use touchscreen that features large display icons that makes navigation easy — even while wearing gloves.
Honeywell’s Vertex™ Edge offers flexible gas sampling in one modular system. Users can start with eight sampling points for continuous gas detection and add up to 72 as requirements change. It uses authentic Chemcassette® technology which helps to ensure extended life. It indicates the presence of gas quickly and definitively with a physical record – evidenced by a color change on chemically treated tape. These Chemcassette® tapes have a replacement life of six months instead of three, for double the usage at half the cost.
“Protecting worker health and safety is a top priority and with Honeywell Vertex™ Edge, workers can get quick and definitive gas readings on the jobsite,” said Renaud Mazarguil, president of Honeywell’s Gas Analysis and Safety business. “This innovative gas detection solution helps workers and safety managers maintain confidence that their toxic gas management system is keeping their operations safe and running smoothly.”
