Ocean Rig UDW Inc. Announces Conditional Exception From Nasdaq Delisting Notice

GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS--(Marketwired - Jun 12, 2017) - Ocean Rig UDW Inc. (NASDAQ: ORIG) (the "Company" or "Ocean Rig"), a global provider of offshore deepwater drilling services, today announced that it has received a decision letter from the Nasdaq Hearings Panel (the "Panel") granting a conditional exception from the decision of the Staff of The Nasdaq Stock Market LLC ("Nasdaq") to delist the Company's common stock, as previously disclosed by the Company on March 30, 2017. This exception allows the Company's common stock to continue to trade on Nasdaq as the Company continues to implement a restructuring under its previously announced schemes of arrangement in the Cayman Islands.

The Company must meet several requirements in order to satisfy the terms of the exception, including the consummation of the Company's restructuring. The Panel reserves the right to reconsider the terms of its exception in light of any circumstances it deems appropriate. The Panel's decision may also be subject to review by the Nasdaq Listing and Hearing Review Council, which may affirm, modify, reverse, dismiss or remand the decision of the Panel.
