The focus of the Energy Symposium will be the future of the energy industry, including the future of hydrocarbons, natural gas, wind and solar power, electric transportation and more.

David Lawler, CEO BP America, Inc. – U.S. Lower 48 Onshore, will deliver the keynote address at the symposium. Panelists will include Paul Dabbar, Under Secretary for Science, U.S. Department of Energy, and C. Michael Ming, Vice President – Executive Liaison for Marketing Technology at BHGE (Baker Hughes, a GE company), as well as other senior executives from the industry.

Last year, the Energy Symposium welcomed more than 220 industry professionals from all over the U.S. In 2018, the Energy Institute expects that number to increase with speakers featured from both globally recognized energy companies and top government agencies.

"We believe it is increasingly important to gather the brightest minds in the industry. Together, we will discuss what the future of energy looks like in what can be an uncertain environment," said Dr. Dipankar Ghosh, Executive Director of the Energy Institute. "We are thrilled to host David Lawler as the keynote speaker, and are eager to hear the insightful outcomes from each of the panels."
