(NASDAQ: TANH) ("Tantech" or the "Company"), a leading manufacturer of bamboo-based charcoal products, announced today that it participated in the 2015 Zhejiang Province New Energy Vehicle Forum (the "Forum") on November 15, 2015. Held in Deqing County, Zhejiang Province, the Forum brought together corporate executives, scholars, thought-leaders, government officials and journalists from across the country to discuss the state of Zhejiang Province's new energy vehicle industry and the major opportunities and challenges it faces today.
Mr. Zhengyu Wang, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tantech, delivered a keynote address that highlighted his optimistic view on the outlook for China's new energy vehicle market and Tantech's vision of becoming a significant player in power batteries in coming years. Other keynote speakers at the Forum included Qingquan Chen, a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Yunyue Ye, professor of Electrical Engineering at Zhejiang University.
Also announced at the Forum was the establishment of Zhejiang Province New Energy Vehicle Institute (the "Institute"), a think tank aimed at broader collaboration among policy makers, industry, researchers and supporting agencies in finding and implementing practical solutions to the challenges of the new energy vehicle industry in Zhejiang Province.
