Wolf Midstream Launches Binding Open Season for Gray Wolf Crude Connector from Big Spring to Midland
Wolf Extends Binding Open Season on Red Wolf Crude Connector
Wolf
Midstream Partners, LLC (Wolf) today announced the launch of a
binding open season to solicit long-term, firm shipper commitments for
the proposed Gray Wolf Crude Connector, a new crude oil pipeline to
serve the Midland Basin. Through the open season, Wolf plans to
construct the approximately 55-mile Gray Wolf Crude Connector, with an
initial capacity of 120,000 barrels per day, originating near Big
Spring, Texas and connecting to Midland, Texas, with multiple joint
tariff options to access the Corpus Christi/Ingleside export market. The
open season begins today, December 20, 2018 and ends Monday, January 21,
2019 at 4:00 p.m. CST.
As part of a broader strategy to better serve Midland Basin producers,
the Gray Wolf Crude Connector will connect to Wolf’s
previously-announced Red
Wolf Crude Connector near Big Spring, Texas. The Red Wolf Crude
Connector connects to Wolf’s existing crude oil terminal near Colorado
City, Texas, providing access to multiple long-haul, large-volume
pipelines for access to nearly all major downstream markets.
“We are excited about this project and what it means for our customers
on the eastern shelf of the Permian,” said Curtis Ewers, Wolf Chief
Executive Officer. “Along with providing much-needed transportation
capacity and export market options, the Gray Wolf Crude Connector
complements the existing Red Wolf Crude Connector route that extends
back to Colorado City and at highly attractive rates, to achieve total
market and refining access out of the Big Spring area and Permian Easter
Shelf at large.”
Construction activities have begun and pending the results of the open
season, Wolf expects the Gray Wolf Crude Connector to commence
commercial operations in the fourth quarter of 2019.
RED WOLF CRUDE CONNECTOR OPEN SEASON EXTENSION
In addition to launching a binding open season for the Gray Wolf Crude
Connector, Wolf is extending the binding open season for the Red Wolf
Crude Connector. Due to ongoing customer negotiations and a high demand
for combined Midland connectivity, Wolf has extended the binding open
season to solicit long-term, firm shipper commitments for the Red Wolf
Crude Connector to Monday, January 21, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. CST.
OPEN SEASON PROCESS
