U.S. rig count decreased by 5 this week, at 253

This week’s Baker Hughes rig count shows that U.S. had a decrease of 5 over last week, resulting in a total count of 253 rigs. Canada had an increase of 6 over last week, resulting in a total Canadian count of 32 rigs.

Breakdown by region

Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, only 1 region, the Eagle Ford saw an increase this week.

Meanwhile, 4 regions experienced a decrease this week:

  • The Barnett is at 0, down 1 from last week.
  • The Haynesville is  at 32, down 1 from last week.
  • The Permian is at 124, down 1 from last week.
  • The Utica is at 6, down 2 from last week.
