U.S. rig count decreased by 2 is at 547

This week’s Baker Hughes Rig Count shows that the U.S. decreased by 2 last week, resulting in a total count of 547 rigs. Canada had an increase of 3 over last week, resulting in a total Canadian count of 193 rigs.

Breakdown by region

Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, the Ardmore Woodford, the Cana Woodford, the Haynesville, and the Williston regions experienced an increase this week.

Meanwhile, 4 regions experienced a decrease this week:

• The DJ-Niobrara region is down 1, at 10.
• The Eagle Ford region is down 1, at 44.
• The Granite Wash region is down 1, at 13.
• The Permian region is down 1, at 250.

All other regions saw no net change in the active rig count.
